Finding Your Perfect Boudoir Outfits

What you wear to your boudoir session matters, not because there’s a “right” look, but because clothing shapes how your images feel.

Not the location. Not the lighting. Not even the posing.

Outfit choice sets the emotional tone of your photos. It influences how grounded you feel in your body, how confidently you move, and how present you’re able to be in front of the camera.

This guide exists to take the guesswork out of that process, so you’re not standing in front of your closet second-guessing yourself, wondering if you chose “the right thing.” Instead, I want you arriving feeling prepared, supported, and open to the experience.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s intention.

This Session Isn't About Dressing For Anyone Else

Boudoir isn’t about performing confidence or fitting into a specific aesthetic. It’s about creating images that feel like you — on a really good day.

Some clients arrive knowing exactly what they want to wear. Others feel unsure, nervous, or overwhelmed. Both are completely normal, and both are welcome here.

That’s why I’ve created a Boudoir Client Style Guide, to gently guide you through outfit choices, colours, textures, and details in a way that feels grounding instead of prescriptive.

There are no rules you have to follow perfectly. There is no “wrong” way to show up.

Hair, Makeup, and Feeling Cared For

I do recommend professional hair and makeup for most clients, not because you need fixing, but because being cared for changes how you carry yourself. Shoulders soften. Breathing slows. Confidence shows up quietly, without forcing it.

That said, makeup is always a choice, never a requirement. Some people feel most like themselves without it, and that is just as valid. The goal is never to look like someone else, it’s to feel like you, supported and at ease.

Find all the right vendors for your special shoot. This is a short list of vendors that I've worked with, trust, and recommend.

Let the guide do the thinking for you

Inside the Boudoir Client Style Guide, you’ll find:

  • Guidance on choosing outfits based on how you want your photos to feel

  • Colour and texture suggestions that photograph beautifully

  • What to avoid (and why, without shame)

  • Gentle reminders that confidence is not required on arrival

  • A simple checklist to help you feel ready without overthinking

If you’re unsure where to start, this guide will meet you exactly where you are.

You don’t need to show up styled like a catalogue model. You don’t need to impress me .You don’t need to feel fearless.

You just need to arrive.

I’ll take care of the rest.
