Birthday Boudoir To Remember

This client is on her 3rd year of including me in her birthday tradition. Every year, we meet for her birthday and try something I've never done before, to help her ring in the next awesome year of life. She started this tradition with me on her 40th birthday and she was instantly HOOKED! The first year, we painted her like one of my French girls... LITERALLY 😍🎨

I put something down on the floor to catch the mess and then we went ALL OUT! In fact, I still have a little pink dot of paint on the eyepiece cushion on my camera, because I refuse to remove it. It's such a nice little reminds me of how much fun we had this day.

The mix of textures and colours against her golden Goddess skin, was almost too much for my little artist heart to handle. She was SUCH a champ with letting me play around with different ideas, and in the end, even years later, I am still obsessed with the results. Yes, please, any day! Last year, she came back for round 2 so I acquired a pool for my studio so we could bring THIS idea to life.

But first, we utilized the beginning of the session with some snaps around my new studio. Her Paint Goddess sessions was one of my first sessions at my first commercial studio space across from Village Green Mall. Her second birthday session with me, was one of my first sessions at my NEW studio space downtown Vernon. How special is that?!

After these shots around the new studio, she went for a dip. I tried my best to make the water warm for her but I WAS using a garden hose to fill it 😆 Little did I know, the process to empty it would be so much more difficult. BUT ABSOLUTELY WOOORRRTTHHH IIITTTT!!

Originally we had created the shoot idea around a milk bath with flowers, but once I got the dark tarp down and she was in there, she seemed like she was floating in a galaxy of flowers in a way I could have never imagined.

She. Was. Stunning.

I snapped these photos with just the flowers from Vernon Flower Shop, and then we added the milk and got a completely different set of looks.

When I first started to add the water, I grabbed a shot quickly before it mixed in because the clouds of white against the dark background, were beautiful on their own. She was such a champ for being able to pose so beautifully in this. I didn't want to ruin the gorgeous face of makeup by Brittany Martiniuk Makeup Artistry, but I didn't even have to worry because it NEVER BUGGED! This Goddess walked away with so many different looks for her birthday photos and it is ALWAYS my pleasure to spoil her a little bit on her big day. Every woman deserves to feel like a Goddess at least once a year.
