How to Prepare for a Couples Session

Updated: Apr 29

Everything you need to know to prepare!

For Studio Sessions

The studio is located at 3005 32nd St, Vernon. Arrive a few minutes early to settle in and feel comfortable before we start.

For Outdoor Sessions

  • Dynamic Locations: We'll be moving throughout the session to capture a variety of beautiful backdrops.

  • Footwear: Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes, as we may go off the path or up and down hills.

  • Dress for the Weather: This is key! It’s hard to enjoy the session if you’re cold, hot, or uncomfortable. Bring extra layers—you can always remove them during the session.

What to Bring

  • Travel Light: Avoid bringing items that need to be carried. They can get in the way of capturing authentic, candid moments. If there's something you absolutely need, make sure it’s small enough to fit in my camera bag.

What to Wear

Check out my What to Wear page for guidance on outfits that photograph beautifully.

During the Session

  • Relax and Have Fun: The best photos are often candid, so don’t worry about looking at the camera unless I prompt you.

  • Get Close: Physical connection captures emotion beautifully—don’t be shy about holding hands, hugging, or other gestures of affection.

  • Trust the Process: Some poses may feel a little awkward, but I promise they’ll look amazing in photos!

  • Follow My Lead: I’ll guide you through specific poses and movements, so there’s no need to stress about what to do. My goal is to make you look and feel your absolute best.

  • Laughter Encouraged: If I crack a joke, feel free to laugh—authentic smiles make the best portraits!
